The Association for Dressings and Sauces Announces 2022 National Salad Month Recipe Contest Winner
The Association for Dressings & Sauces (ADS) is pleased to announce the winning recipe for the 2022 National Salad Month Recipe Contest.
Lynn Albright of Fremont, Nebraska, has been selected as the winner of the contest for her recipe “Arugula, Strawberry and Quinoa Salad with Balsamic Rosemary Steak Tip Kebabs” made with a champagne vinaigrette dressing.
“I love salads in the summer,” Albright said. “With fresh sweet strawberries abundant, I wanted to include them in a salad with something salty like feta and olives, and something with a bit of bite, like arugula. Champagne vinaigrette was used as a bright, not too heavy, dressing to accentuate the freshness. I also used the dressing as a base for a rosemary marinade for the beef tips, resulting in a lightly flavored, tender taste.”
ADS President Jeannie Milewski was impressed by the creativity of the submissions.
“We’re thrilled to add this new recipe to our website,” Milewski said. “Though we were impressed with all 53 recipes we received, Ms. Albright’s creation using champagne vinaigrette and balsamic steak tips will be a unique addition to ADS’ recipe library.”
The two-month long contest was launched in May in honor of National Salad Month, a holiday established by ADS in 1992.
In addition to being featured on the ADS website, the winner receives a $250 gift card to a grocery store of his or her choosing. Contestants from across the country submitted recipes using a variety of dressings including ranch, blue cheese, Italian, green goddess and poppyseed. The winning recipe can be found on the ADS website.
Starting August 1, ADS will launch another two-month long recipe contest with a focus on marinades. Check the ADS website and social media for updates in the coming weeks.
