Golden State Foods Wins 2020 Sauce Of The Year From The Association For Dressings & Sauces For Its Zaxby’s Caribbean Jerk Sauce
(October 20, 2020) ATLANTA, GA –The Association for Dressings & Sauces (ADS) awarded Irvine, CA-based Golden State Foods Corp. (GSF) as the winner of the Sauce of the Year Award for its Zaxby’s Caribbean Jerk Sauce. The announcement was made during the ADS 2020 Technical Meeting “Face2Face” held virtually October 5-7.

“GSF collaborated with the Zaxby’s Product Innovation team on the Caribbean Jerk Sauce for Zaxby’s Caribbean Jerk Fillet Sandwich, which initially launched in January 2020 as a limited time offer and then extended longer because the promotion was so successful,” said Mitch Dingwall, Senior Director, Production Development for GSF.
“As consumers enjoy pepper and spice-flavored foods, the ‘spice and heat’ trend influenced this crowd-pleasing sauce, which features just the right amount of heat and a balanced flavor profile with familiar, yet authentic, exotic, intriguing notes.”
“The authentic, fruity, sweet and spicy Caribbean Jerk Sauce features a blend of mango, habanero peppers, and Island spices,” said GSF Senior Corporate Chef Kate Dolan. “It complements other sandwich ingredients, including a signature hand-breaded, crispy-fried chicken fillet, banana peppers, lettuce, and mayo on a toasted potato bun. Zaxby’s also offered this sauce as a wing glaze.”
