Open Committee Descriptions
Packaging Committee
While you’re in Austin, you are welcome to attend the Packaging Committee Meeting, which is open to all Meeting attendees. The mission of the Packaging Committee is to address the packaging/ packaging system needs of ADS members and to provide a forum to review packaging-related topics. The group meets twice a year during the Annual and Technical Meetings. The Committee will evaluate the development of a troubleshooting guide on semi-rigid cups. In addition, the Committee will consider speaker topics for the April 2020 Committee meeting. An update on these projects will be provided during the October 4 Committee Meeting.

How to Register for the Meeting
Online registration for the 2019 ADS Annual Meeting has been closed. Please contact Headquarters at 678/298-1181 for assistance.
In accordance with Association policy, the participants underwrite the entire cost of the Annual Meeting. The registration fee covers group meal functions and receptions, speakers’ fees, audio/visual equipment, entertainment and decorations, stationery and printing costs, web-related expenses, programs, staff travel, office costs and all expenses incurred in planning and coordinating the Meeting. (Please register by Friday, August 15 to qualify for special advance registration fees.)

*Non-member companies may attend one Annual or Technical Meeting to become familiar with the Association. The difference between member and non-member registration fees for the Annual or Technical Meeting is applicable to dues if received within sixty (60) days following the Meeting attended.
Note: ** Your spouse/companion must be registered for the Meeting to participate in any social event. Included in the spouse/companion registration are all social functions (Welcome reception and Awards Dinner, two breakfasts, tours and Closing Reception/Dinner). If your spouse/companion is employed by the member company, they must pay a full member registration fee.

At the conclusion of Sunday’s General Session, join friends for a BBQ & Brew culinary tour. The shuttle will depart at 12:30 pm for a stop at one of Austin’s legendary BBQ joints for a behind-the-scenes tour by the pit master himself to learn the secrets of Texas BBQ. Learn how BBQ came to the Lone Star State, the cooking techniques that make it unique, and the reasons it is considered the best in the world. Then move on to enjoy a beer flight at one of two local craft breweries while you enjoy a BBQ picnic and brewery tour.
Twisted Texas Brunch Bus

On Monday afternoon, hop aboard the Twisted Texas Brunch Bus for a mobile culinary tour of Austin’s hottest brunch spots. On board the bus, live entertainment will be provided by a local Austin band with fun, feisty history and local lore about each brunch stop. Delicious samplings of Austin’s best brunch items include breakfast tacos, chicken and waffles, and Czech-style kolaches with an adult beverage at each stop.

Monday Night Closing Reception and Dinner
You haven’t said your goodbyes yet so get ready for another evening of true ADS camaraderie. This farewell event will boast a local band to accompany your networking activities and build on the many relationships you have formed and nurtured during this Annual Meeting. This event is included with your registration fee.
ADS is offering sponsorships for many of the functions and events that take place at its Annual Meeting. Sponsorships are available to all members, Manufacturers and Suppliers, and provide a unique opportunity to create added visibility and name recognition for your company, products and services.
Sponsorships for each of the individual functions and events noted below will be on a first-come, first-served basis. You can select and pay for your sponsorship online when registering for the Meeting or contact Jacque Knight to pre-select your sponsorship.
Sponsor Guidelines
- Diamond Sponsorship cannot be sponsored by the same company in consecutive years, unless it is available at the published deadline.
- Sponsorship limited to one (1) item per company per Meeting.
- All sponsorships are based on a first-come, first-served basis, taking into consideration the information contained in Point 1 above.
- All promotions will be provided by ADS as outlined in the Sponsor Levels and Benefits document. No giveaways allowed.
- If payment for sponsorship is not received within 30 days of commitment, the sponsored activity will be placed back in the sponsorship offerings.

Whether making reservations via phone or online, it is important to identify yourself as a member of The Association for Dressings & Sauces (or ADS) group. A credit card name and number is needed to guarantee the reservation, however, your card will not be charged until checkout. Cancellation of reservations shall be accepted by the JW Marriott Austin, without penalty, up to 48 hours prior to date of arrival. Please remember you are responsible for both reserving and canceling your own hotel reservations.
Identifying yourself as part of ADS or The Association for Dressings & Sauces group helps place you in the ADS room block in either hotel.
Booking your room in the ADS block is extremely important because the Association, on behalf of the members, has committed revenue to the hotel for a specified number of hotel rooms. If ADS does not use the specified number of hotel rooms, which can happen when attendees book in other hotels or outside of the ADS block, the Association may be monetarily penalized for un-booked hotel rooms in our block. We appreciate your willingness to assist us in avoiding unnecessary penalties by booking in the meeting hotel and identifying yourself as part of the ADS group when making your reservation.
On-property, self- parking is $32 ++/day. Valet parking is $45 ++/day with in/out privileges.

Take Presidential Boulevard to exit the airport. Turn left onto E. State Highway 71 Service Road. Travel 0.2 miles and take the ramp on the left to TX-71W. Travel 5.1 miles and exit onto I-35 N/US-290 toward Waco. Travel 3.5 miles and take Exit 234B toward Cesar Chavez/2nd-4th Street. Merge onto I-35 Frontage Road. Travel 0.1 miles and turn left onto E First Street/E Cesar Chavez Street. Travel 0.5 miles and turn right onto N Congress Street. Take the 1st right onto E 2nd Street/W Willie Nelson Boulevard. Business Meetings
Please refer to the Schedule of Events for a complete listing of all meetings. The General Business Session on Sunday and Monday are from 8:00 to 11:30 a.m. These informative sessions are open to all registrants.
The Board of Directors, the Executive Technical Board and the Membership Advisory Council meetings are open only to the appointed members of those committees. The Packaging Committee is open to all registered delegates. See the Schedule of Events for details.
Weather and Dress
Average temperatures in October range from the mid 80os to the low 60os at night. The monthly average precipitation in Austin for the month of October is 3.4 inches. Business casual is the attire for all ADS business functions. Be sure and pack a light jacket or sweater for walkable tours, as well as a good sunscreen. Sunglasses and a hat are also a good idea.
