2017 Dressing of the Year Award
GFF Wins 2017 Dressing of the Year from The Association for Dressings & Sauces for its Spicy Jerk Dressing with Hemp Seeds
(October 7, 2017) ATLANTA, GA– The Association for Dressings & Sauces (ADS) named its 17th annual Dressing of the Year Award winner as GFF, Inc. for its Spicy Jerk Dressing with Hemp Seeds. The award was presented at the ADS Annual Meeting held October 7-9 at the Westin Nashville in Nashville, TN.
“Consumers tastes are always changing. We developed this formulation to address the increasing popularity of ethnic-inspired flavors and new ingredients such as hemp seeds, which contain healthy fats, omega 3’s, protein and essential nutrients,” said Mary dela Peña, VP Technical Services & Quality at Girard’s (GFF Inc).
City of Industry, CA-based GFF dates back to 1935 when patrons at Girard’s French Restaurant in San Francisco asked for bottles of in-house dressing to take home. GFF, Inc. was formed as a food service company for those looking to buy in bulk. GFF develops and distributes a variety of salad dressings, sauces, mustards and mayonnaise spreads.
“On behalf of GFF, we are happy to accept this distinguished industry award from the Association for Dressings and Sauces,” said Dave Nicholson, CEO of HACO US, parent company of GFF, Inc.
The Dressing of the Year Award is presented by ADS to recognize and celebrate truly innovative and delicious dressing products. Nominations for the award were received from ADS members and were then voted on by members via a blind taste test at the ADS May 2017 Technical Meeting in Portland, OR. ADS members voted for the dressing deemed to have the best overall taste.
Founded in 1926, the Association for Dressings & Sauces is an international trade association of manufacturers of salad dressings, mayonnaise, condiment sauces and the suppliers to the industry.
